What Do I Feel Guilty About?
A Faithful Look Within
Day 3
“He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all wickedness.”
1 John 1:9
Guilt can stay alive in the shadows — shaping how we see ourselves, how we relate to others, and how we approach God. Some guilt is honest and needs forgiveness. Some guilt is false and needs truth. And some guilt is old and needs release.
Recovery invites us to bring our guilt into the light of God’s mercy. Not to be crushed by it — but to be restored. The enemy uses guilt to shame us. God uses conviction to free us. There is a difference.
Conviction is specific, hopeful, and leads to change. Shame is vague, heavy, and leads nowhere.
Today you can bring your guilt — real or imagined — into God’s presence with honesty. He does not turn away. He does not reject you. His mercy is wider and deeper than any mistake you’ve made.
Prayer for your day
Lord, shine light on what is true and release me from what is false. Cover me with Your mercy and restore what guilt has broken. Amen.
Put it in Action
Finish this prayer:
“God, here is what I feel guilty about…”
Let honesty lead you toward mercy.
