Strength Beyond Willpower
Hope in Temptation
Day 4
“Be strong in the Lord and in His mighty power.” Ephesians 6:10
Willpower alone crumbles under pressure. That’s why repeated failures feel so defeating—you’re using the wrong power source. God never asked you to manage temptation through personal strength; He offers His strength instead.
His power is steady when your emotions are not.
His strength endures when your resolve fades.
His Spirit empowers what your flesh cannot.
Freedom is not about becoming stronger—it’s about becoming more surrendered.
Where have you relied on willpower instead of God’s strength?
A prayer for your day.
God, I confess that I often rely on my own strength—and it isn’t enough. Today, I choose to lean on You instead. Fill me with Your power where my resolve feels weak.
Teach me to surrender control and depend fully on Your Spirit.
Put it in action.
Pause three times today and pray:
“Lord, fill me with Your strength, not mine.”
You don’t fight temptation with willpower—God supplies the strength.
