Speaking Truth to the Lie
Hope in Temptation
Day 5
“Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God.” Matthew 4:4
Temptation thrives on lies. The enemy doesn’t overpower you—he deceives you. Jesus resisted temptation by speaking truth out loud. Not silently. Not internally. Out loud.
There is power in declaring God’s Word when the lie rises.
When temptation whispers, “You need this.” Truth answers, “The Lord is my Shepherd; I lack nothing.”
When the lie says, “You can’t resist.” Truth replies, “I can do all things through Christ.”
What lie does the enemy use most against you? Which Scripture can you speak against it?
A prayer for your day.
Jesus, When lies rise in my mind, remind me of Your truth. Give me the courage to speak Your Word out loud, even when it feels small or awkward. Let Scripture interrupt temptation and anchor my heart. Your truth is stronger than every lie I face.
Put it in action.
