Hope When Expectations Disappoint

Hope in the Holidays

Day 5

“And this hope will not lead to disappointment.”
— Romans 5:5

Sometimes the holiday you imagined doesn’t arrive. The joy feels muted. The connection feels thin. The disappointment feels personal.

Hope is not found in recreating a perfect Christmas—it’s found in recognizing that Jesus was born into imperfection. The manger reminds us that God works beautifully within what is incomplete.

A prayer for you.

God, help me release what I expected and receive what You are offering instead. Let hope grow where disappointment lives.

Put it in action.

Release one expectation this week—consciously and prayerfully.

Share the moment.

God’s presence is not limited by unmet expectations.
