Alive Again
The Slow Work of Grace
Day 4
“We were therefore buried with Him through baptism into death in order that,
just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father,
we too may live a new life.”
— Romans 6:4
There’s a moment in every journey of recovery when you realize you’ve been breathing again — not just surviving, but living. For a long time, I didn’t notice it happening. I was focused on what still needed healing, what hadn’t yet changed. But then one day, I caught a glimpse of joy — quiet, steady, real.
That’s the miracle of renewal: it sneaks up on you. Resurrection doesn’t always come with fanfare; sometimes it arrives in the form of a peaceful morning, a conversation filled with grace, or laughter you didn’t think you’d ever feel again.
For families walking through this journey, it’s often the same. The light returns slowly. Hope begins to outshine fear. It’s the glory of the Father — breathing life into what felt beyond reach.
We are not meant to stay buried in what once was. In Christ, we are invited to rise — not just from addiction, shame and despair, but into new ways of living, loving, and seeing the world. Renewal isn’t only survival. It’s resurrection. And that means life — real, abundant life — is possible again.
Prayer for your day.
Father, thank You for the gift of new life. When I forget how far You’ve brought me, remind me that resurrection is still unfolding. Help me to walk each day as someone made alive again by Your grace. Amen.
