Hope in a Crowded Schedule

Hope in the Holidays

Day 2

“Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest.”
— Matthew 11:28

Busy does not mean meaningful. Our schedules fill up quickly, and before we notice, our souls are running on empty. Even good things can crowd out what we need most. We are starving. We are exhausted. We are empty.

Jesus often withdrew—not because He was weak, but because He was wise. Recovery reminds us that rest is not optional; it’s protective. You are allowed to pause. God is not impressed by exhaustion.

A prayer for you.

Jesus, help me recognize when I’m doing too much. Teach me to rest without guilt and to choose presence over pressure.

Put it in action.

Remove or simplify one commitment this week—even something small.

Share the moment.

Rest is not quitting. It’s trusting God to carry what you cannot.
