Held in the Middle

Strength for the Journey

Day 5

“The eternal God is your refuge,
and his everlasting arms are under you.”
Deuteronomy 33:27

The middle of the journey can feel like the hardest place. Not the crisis of the beginning, where everything feels urgent. Not the breakthrough moments that come later. But the middle — the long stretch where growth happens slowly and quietly.

In the middle, it’s easy to wonder: Am I still changing? Is God still working? Is this worth it?

And yet Scripture gives a promise that meets us right here: Underneath are the everlasting arms.

Not in front of us after we’ve succeeded. Not behind us reminding us of the past. Right underneath us — supporting us in the middle.

God’s strength doesn’t wait for perfection. It carries us through process. It holds us when we feel tired, uncertain, or stretched thin. It steadies our hearts when the path feels long.

For families, this is especially true: God is holding you, too. The emotional weight, the prayers that feel unanswered, the hope you keep choosing each day — none of that is unnoticed. His arms are underneath your story as well.

Strength for the journey is not something I earn. It’s something I lean on.

Prayer for your day.

Lord, thank You for holding me in the middle.
When I feel unsteady, be my refuge.
Give me courage, hope, and strength for the road ahead. Amen.

Put it in action.

Imagine yourself being held by God’s arms.
Sit for 30 seconds and breathe slowly.
Let this truth settle in:
“God is underneath my life today.”
